Military Toy Sets May Contain Excessive Levels of Lead

Roughly 2,000 toy military figures were recalled due to dangerous levels of lead paint. The recall was based on excessive amounts of lead found in the surface paint of the toy figurines.

Imported by Jide Trading, Inc., affected toys are mini military sets packaged on a blister card. The military figure stands about four inches tall and comes with several accessories. The toys could have been purchased in dollar stores and other discount stores between November 2008 and April 2009.

What To Do

All recalled toys should be kept out of the reach of children. Jide Trading will provide full refunds or replacement toys to parents who purchased the recalled toys. The company can be reached toll free at (866) 544-7822 or via its website at www.jidetrading.com.

Lead Poisoning

If you suspect that your child was exposed to dangerous levels of lead paint in a recalled toy, it is important to get them tested. Symptoms you should watch out for include:

  • Sour, upset stomach
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Chronic headache
  • Unexplained fatigue and muscle weakness

If your child is experiencing any of the above symptoms he/she may have been exposed to excessive amounts of lead. It is important to get your child tested for lead poisoning immediately to prevent further health complications.
